Kimberley Levering
Dr. Levering completed her Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2001. She completed her internship and fellowship at Munroe-Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. For the next 20 years, she was a Psychologist at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center where she provided evaluations for learning disabilities and ADHD, participated in medical clinics, provided consult and emergency/crisis services, and provided outpatient therapy both in the behavioral health office as well as a primary care pediatric office. During her time at Children’s Hospital, in addition to her clinical work, Dr. Levering was involved in training post doctoral and externship students, providing community and hospital presentations, and developing an online educational program for hospital systems. Her clinical areas of interest include disruptive behavior disorders, ADHD, anxiety, anger control/emotion regulation difficulties, behavioral family therapy, and a variety of issues related to difficulties with adjustment/coping. She is a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) provider.
Her philosophical approach focuses on evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents, and their parents/caregivers. She believes the child/adolescent is only a piece of the therapeutic puzzle and that all caregivers involved in the child’s life are important in the therapeutic process. As such, she stresses the importance of the child’s/adolescent’s caregivers in helping set and achieve treatment goals and providing feedback on progress along with way. By working with children/adolescents and everyone within their support system, she strives to help families and the clients she serves gain more perspective, a better balance in life, and improve their overall well-being.
Dr. Levering is accepting assessment and therapy referrals for Children (2-12), Adolescents (13-19), and Adults(19+)
