Elizabeth Nelson earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University in 2006. She completed internship and fellowship at the Boys Town Center for Behavioral Health where she went on to become a staff therapist.  While at Boys Town, Elizabeth provided therapy to children and families, served as Assistant Director of National Behavioral Health Dissemination, earned a certification to provide Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and participated in the training and supervision of psychology doctoral students from across the country. 

 

Elizabeth works with children and young adults from 18 months to early adulthood. Her passion lies with helping parents navigate typical childhood problems such as temper tantrums, noncompliance, sleeping difficulties, fears, sibling conflict, picky eating, and toileting difficulties. She has expertise in providing care for ADHD, disruptive behaviors, and anxiety. She uses evidence-based treatments that include behavioral and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Elizabeth believes in a holistic perspective to therapy that considers all factors contributing to the presenting concern. This approach also involves collaborating with pediatricians, specialty physicians, psychiatrists, school personnel and/or other professionals. Underlying all of Elizabeth’s work is a desire to help her clients develop lifelong skills to promote wellbeing.

Elizabeth is accepting referrals for Children (birth-12), Adolescents (13-19), and Young Adults (19-25)
