Michelle Roley-Roberts, Ph.D., graduated from the University of Toledo with her Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 2016. She completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in the child track. She was a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Trainee, a National Institute of Mental Health Child Intervention, Prevention, and Services (CHIPS) Fellow, and a Leadership Education to Advance Diversity (LEAD) Fellow. In addition to private practice, Dr. Roley-Roberts is an assistant professor at West Virginia University where she has an active research program mentoring a team of graduate, undergraduate, and post-bachelor scholars. The goal of her research is to investigate and provide culturally sensitive evidence-based assessments and treatments for PTSD toward reducing youth suicide risk. As a first-generation college student, individual with a {dis}ability, and Appalachian from Southeast Ohio, she is passionate about using data to advocate for equitable mental health care and access to knowledge and resources. She previously served the greater Omaha community when she worked as an assistant professor at Creighton University Department of Psychiatry and as a licensed psychologist at CHI Health.
Dr. Roley-Roberts primarily provides comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational testing to help children and families clarify diagnoses (e.g., autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, OCD) and make a plan to help families get to functioning at their most optimal. Dr. Roley-Roberts believes that therapeutic assessment can be life-changing. She enjoys helping children and families disentangle what’s been going on to provide a clearer picture that can be used to communicate with others (e.g., parents/family members, schools, psychiatrists, primary care, speech language/occupational therapists) about how best to help. She will collaborate with you and your family and may also involve other members of your team, to better understand how to help you meet your and your child’s needs. Dr. Roley-Roberts works with youth and young adults up to age 25.
